A tremendous effort has been made by the Gardening Group to keep the railway looking lovely all summer despite the wet weather and the few numbers of willing helpers. Here, Brenda can be seen tending a flower bed at Tenterden Station. Just behind the fence there has been a bumper crop of tomatoes and at least four decent sized marrows, they, at least have enjoyed the wet weather! As always, an appeal to anyone with 'Green Fingers' or an eagerness to become involved, please contact Veronica Hopker (Evenings) on 01303 862811.

The glory of the Kent and East Sussex Railway is its rural situation with such variety in the landscape too. Trying to keep it rural rather than “jungle” is a never ending task and we need help.

How can you keep a garden continuing to look lovely - whether railway or otherwise? The answer is ..... lots of hard work, much of it humdrum. However if you like to see a place looking good, how about coming to help us maintain the railways gardens?

Northiam station sparkles in the sunshine in its new coats of paint, however its beauty chiefly lies in its rural charm. Enter the Gardening group whose aim is to enhance the beauty at this and the other station on the line, whilst taming the excess of nature left to its own devices!

The Autumn period on the railway is naturally a reflection of what is going on in our own gardens. Its a time of pruning back and "reorganising" as flowers and fruits disappear and plants die back for the winter period. These pictures were taken mainly at Northiam station but reflect what has gone on elsewhere too.
