The Tuesday Gang - Page updated Monday 22nd March 2004

Below eager beavers Ron & Tom are aligning the fencing to ensure our visitors make a safe entrance to the new refreshment facility from the station platform.
|
|
Meanwhile, from the vantage point of the top deck we can check that new recruit Stan and Ray are not slacking as they apply that pre-season coat of gloss to the toilet block. Yes, its looking smart again.
|
|
But there's more! Round the corner at the newspaper store, Robin sees to parched throats as Ron & Graham fit a new roof to stop the leaks that threaten ruin to K&ESR's precious waste paper bank. |
|
Also hard at it, John, Humph and Stan are loving every moment as they apply that wonder material - tar paint, to the meeting room exterior giving it too, a cared for appearance once again. |
|
Before the tram was craned in , we assisted with the site preparations. Here, Sutton is about to be winched into its new location at the end of the Pullman Dock - we having previously cleared the track around the whells and the entrance area to the platform. |

This is the job that was meant to take 2 of the gang about half a day but ended up a mammoth task. The boards vertical posts are sections of rail with about as much metal below ground as above it and we had to move the left hand one just a few inches to accomodate the new standard signage. What Fun! But we did get to swee a barn owl one dusk as we finished with the vertical uprights and the sign horizontal - according to our "bubble" at least. |

The
activities of the group have been unusually varied in recent weeks
- so have the venues. As you can see here, four of our team
at least, are on top of the world thanks to the new tram at Tenterden.
The old saying has it, that one should not muzzle the
ox and having worked on the area around the tram we set to,
to savour its delights as we enjoy our lunchtime fodder in unusual
warm spring sunshine.
