Mother's Day

Give your Mum a Mother's Day Treat with the Kent & East Sussex Railway
Sunday 18th March 2012

A special Mother's Day treat can be booked for £22.50 with the Kent & East Sussex Railway where the whole family can enjoy the service and style from a more gentle time. A time when opulent surroundings and attentive staff made our railways the envy of the world.

Mums will appreciate either of the two options that are offered this year. On board the 1:15pm steam service from Tenterden a traditional Ploughman's Lunch is served with either tea or coffee or if an afternoon trip is more convenient, a delicious cream tea is served on the 3:30pm train. This is accompanied by a selection of cakes and again served with tea or coffee.

This special Mother's Day treat includes a two-hour return journey on one of the Railway's restored steam trains, a reserved table for your family and a surprise gift for every Mum to take home to remember her special day. Relax on board and enjoy some quality time with Mum, as you take in the beautiful scenery of the surrounding countryside, interrupted only by the gentle chug of the steam engine.

The Kent & East Sussex railway stretches over 10 ½ miles between Tenterden and Bodiam stations and visitors of all ages will love the excitement of travelling on one of the country's finest rural light railways.

There will be a choice of two trains from Tenterden station on Mother's Day departing at 1.15pm and 3.30pm.

Due to the event's popularity, pre booking essential – please visit www.kesr.org.uk or telephone 01580 765155.

Families can extend their day and explore the many wonderful delights on offer in the towns surrounding each station. At Tenterden, discover the impressive play park and intriguing shops, or relax and unwind in one of the many cafes and pubs along the idyllic High Street.
