The Kent & East Sussex Railway is running an appeal to raise £200,000 to double the capacity of the main carriage maintenance building at Tenterden station. The expansion is needed to provide sufficient high quality trains to operate the current train time table which carries 90,000 passengers annually.

New event for 2012

Rock with the Tots at the Kent & East Sussex Railway

An exciting new event comes to Kent’s popular steam railway in Tenterden on Saturday 31 March 2012.

Families will enjoy a 25 minute steam train journey on the Kent & East Sussex Railway along the picturesque line from Tenterden before alighting to see two of children’s TV’s favourite characters.

Featuring popular pre-school television characters Fifi Forget-me-Not and her best friend Bumble, ‘Rock with the Tots’ is a high energy, sing-along stage show designed to entertain the whole family and encourage young family members to join in!

After the show families will then be able to board the train back to Tenterden station where there will be plenty of other activities for visitors to enjoy.

The station restaurant will be open at Tenterden station serving delicious hot and cold food.

The cost of a return train journey from Tenterden station on this date including all activities will be £13.50 for adults and £10.50 for children (1^st class tickets £16.50 adults and £12.50 per child).
