New Year Treat - Free Child Tickets at
the Kent & East Sussex Railway

Families can blow away the post Christmas blues at the Kent & East Sussex Railway and treat their children to free rides on steam or diesel trains between Wednesday 29 December 2010 and Monday 3 January 2011.

The Railway offers fantastic value for money days out and this promotion is perfect for families looking to enjoy quality time together after the expensive Christmas season as it allows up to three children to travel on the railway for free with the purchase of one adult rover ticket costing just £12.80.

Tickets include a return journey to Bodiam station on one of the railway's vintage steam or diesel trains, departing from Tenterden station at various times each day between 29 December 2010 and 3 January 2011.

On board families can enjoy the beautiful winter scenes of the surrounding Wealden countryside and Rother Valley as the trains gently puff along the 10 ½ mile line between Tenterden and Bodiam Stations. The return journey takes a little under two hours, but with the Rover ticket, families have the opportunity to enjoy a whole day out. Families can browse the quaint shops of Tenterden or indulge in delicious treats in one of the cosy café's along the high street. A short walk from Bodiam station is the magnificent Bodiam Castle, where imaginations will run wild as children explore the ruins, including the impressive battlements and historic towers, which remain completely intact.

The Railway also offers a variety of catering options on board the train including tea or coffee with a fresh pastry, a cream tea, ploughman's lunch or children's party boxes. Food is available on selected trains and must be booked in advance.

The railway has ample free parking at Northiam and Tenterden stations. Visitors who would like to start their journey at Bodiam can park at the castle for just £2 per day.

To claim free tickets visitors need to print a voucher from this website and present it at the booking office at the time of ticket purchase.
