This vehicle was
built as a CCT for the LMS by Metro- Cammell in 1938. It
was to Diagram 2026, was part of Lot No. 1154.
The van was purchased for preservation in 1985, initially
on the Nene Valley Railway. It is thought to have appeared
in the James Bond Film ‘Octopussy’. A hatch
had been cut into the roof and this appeared identical
to that from which 007 made his escape from a supposed
East German train. By March 1992 it had been moved to Preston
Park and was at St. Leonards by September 1994. It was
acquired by the K&ESR in 1999 and is in use as a Carriage & Wagon
Department stores van and is numbered in the goods vehicle
series.
