This vehicle arrived from Stewarts Lane in December 1984.
It was built at Ashford in 1937 and became SR Nº. 1145.
In February, as DS70217, it became a Civil Engineer’s
Department mess van and tool van. It served in a similar
role on the K&ESR for the Permanent Way Department until
purchased by C&W volunteers in 1998. Following waterproofing
and a cosmetic restoration No. 79 is employed as a stores
van for the C & W Department.
